Download Content to Meditate Anywhere

Want to meditate on the go or during an upcoming trip where your cellular or WiFi connection might not be strong? With an active subscription to the Happier app, you can download courses, meditations, and podcasts so they're accessible offline.  

The steps are a little different for Apple and Android Devices so please check the instructions for your device.

Apple

Download Content in the App onto your iPhone or iPad. Downloaded content takes up storage space on your device.
  • Open the course, meditation or podcast you want to download. 
  • Tap the menu icon (3 dots in a circle) in the upper, right corner of the screen.
  • Tap the cloud icon to download the content.
  • When it's downloaded, the text will say Remove From Device.
Listening to Downloaded Content
  • Tap the Profile icon in the upper, left corner.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Downloads. 

Your downloaded content is organized by Courses, Single meditations, Episodes (podcasts and talks) and Sleep meditations.

You can specify whether you want to Download only on Wi-Fi or also when connected to cellular data as follows: 
  • Tap the Profile icon in the upper, left hand corner.
  • Tap Settings (gear icon) in the upper, right corner.
  • Tap Downloads.
  • Toggle the Download only on Wi-Fi option to red/on if you want to block your device from downloading Happier content using your cellular data. When this button's off, not red, you’ll be able to download using cellular. 

On this screen you can also see how much storage space Happier content is using on your device and remove all of it at once if you'd like.

There are also options in your iPhone settings that impact downloading on cellular so if you're having any trouble please check those too. 

Removing Downloaded Content

There are several ways to remove downloaded content from your iPhone or iPad.

To Remove All Downloads at Once

  • Tap the Profile icon in the upper, left hand corner.
  • Tap Settings (gear icon) in the upper, right corner.
  • Tap Downloads.
  • Tap Remove All Downloads.

All downloads are also removed when you sign out of your app account and if you delete the app from your device.


To Remove a Single Downloaded Item

  • Tap the Profile icon in the upper, left hand corner.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Downloads.
  • Tap the item you no longer want to have downloaded.
  • Tap the menu icon (3 dots in a circle) in the upper, right corner of the screen.
  • Tap Remove From Device.

Android

Download Content in the App onto your Android mobile device. Downloaded content takes up storage space on your device.
  • Open the content you'd like to download.
  • Tap the Cloud icon.
  • The icon will turn from black to red and when the content's downloaded, the cloud will have a checkmark in it.
Listening to Downloaded Content
  • Tap the Profile icon in the upper, right corner.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Downloads.
  • Tap the content you want to play.

Your downloaded content is organized by Courses, Single meditations, Episodes (podcasts and talks) and Sleep meditations.

There are also options in your Android settings that impact downloading on cellular so if you're having any trouble please check those too. 


Removing Downloaded Content

There are several ways to remove downloaded content from your Android.

To Remove All Downloads at Once

  • Tap the Profile icon in the upper, right corner.
  • Tap Settings (gear icon) in the upper, right corner.
  • Tap Downloads.
  • Tap Remove All Downloads.

All downloads are also removed when you sign out of your app account and if you delete the app from your device.


To Remove a Single Downloaded Item

  • Tap the Profile icon in the upper, right corner.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the screen.
  • Tap Downloads.
  • Tap the Trash Can icon to the right of the item you'd like to delete from your downloads.
  • If you're on the content inside the app, you can also tap the Cloud icon. A box will pop up asking you to confirm that you want to delete the downloaded content from your device. Tap Ok.
